Hurricane Idalia is set to be hitting Florida on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. This once-in-a-lifetime storm is projected to arrive on Florida’s coastline as a Category 3, nearly Category 4, storm. Ahead of the arrival of this hurricane, the Disney Cruise Line announced that it would be postponing its virtual reveal of the Disney Treasure on August 30th. Instead, the unveiling of this newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet will be taking place on September 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM ET/8:00 AM PT.

The Disney Treasure is the sixth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Just a few days ago, a treasure map was released with hints about what could be found on the Disney Treasure. When this reveal happens, it will be done via video. The video will give fans a look at details that have never been seen before details about the Disney Treasure. It will show the world-class dining, immersive family entertainment, and unique spaces that will be coming to this sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line. Disney promises that the Disney Treasure will blend both one-of-a-kind offerings along with unparalleled hospitality that is a markstone of every Disney Cruise Line vacation.
The progress of the Disney Treasure has been a magical thing to watch as well. Recently, the stern characters for the ship were revealed. They are Captain Hook and Peter Pan! In March, the Disney Cruise Line showed that the keel laying ceremony had taken place. Before that, a video was shown that saw different pieces of this magnificent ship come together. Disney also recently purchased a new ship that was mostly completed. With this purchase came the announcement that the Disney Cruise Line would be visiting new markets, specifically Singapore.
The Disney Treasure is supposed to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet in 2024. The Disney Treasure, as have ships for the Disney Cruise Line before her, is being being built at the Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. Most recently the Disney Wish was built there. The Disney Treasure will have a theme of adventure. It took its inspiration from Walt Disney’s lifelong love of exploration. Disney revealed what the Grand Hall for the Disney Treasure will look like at the 2022 D23 Expo. This includes a magic carpet ride statue with Aladdin and Jasmine on board.
The Grand Hall will be full of inspirations of adventure. It will be inspired by the “mystery of a gilded palace, it draws on real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pays homage to the far-off land of Agrabah” from Disney’s Aladdin.
