Star Trek: Picard has returned to the Nielson top ten for the final episode of its third and final season. This marks the third time during its third season that it has made it into the top ten for Nielson original programs. This time, Star Trek: Picard was in the ninth slot, one higher than the week before.
With Star Trek: Picard returning to the Nielson top ten, this means that the Star Trek series now has three of the four entrances into the top ten from Paramount+. Previously, 1923, the Yellowstone prequel had made it into the top ten.
The return of Star Trek: Picard to Nielson’s top ten comes as momentum continues to build from fans for a series that will continue the story of the third season. As of now, over 50,000 people have signed a petition for there to be a continuation of the story that started in the third season of Star Trek: Picard in a series that has been commonly called Star Trek: Legacy. The petition calls for third-season showrunner Terry Matalas to also helm the continuation. The petition can be found and signed here: https://www.change.org/p/let-terry-matalas-picard-season-3-showrunner-make-more-star-trek-shows-terrytrek
At this point, the petition for Star Trek: Legacy has surpassed a previous petition that led to the creation of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. There have been no announcements at this point announcing any Star Trek series that continues the story of the third season of Star Trek: Picard with the next generation of crewmembers of the Enterprise.
