Disney has released a trailer for its upcoming Haunted Mansion film. The trailer sets up what the a new mansion owner named Gabbie goes through. She hires a a tour guide, a psychic, a priest, and a historian to help clear her new home of ghosts. Of course, things never go quite as planned. The trailer gives a look exactly how that happens. The accompanying poster also gives a fun hint at what adventures are to come when this movie arrives in theaters on July 28, 2023.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Justin Simien, the film features an all-star ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Dan Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.

Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters. The film’s producers are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.
The film is inspired by the classic Disney attraction of the same name. It can be found in multiple Disney parks throughout the world. The original is at Disneyland and opened in 1969. A movie based on the attraction was also released in 2003 and was directed by Rob Minkoff and starred Eddie Murphy. At one point, Guillermo del Toro was also attached to bring a film based on this attraction to life as well. This movie looks to be very different than its predecessor and also lean heavily into the different moments and story elements found in the Haunted Mansion that is found at Disneyland.
