One day after reopening sales for Magic Keys for the Disneyland Resort, the sales stopped. Throughout the day, different Magic Key levels have seen their availability disappear as Disney fans waited in virtual queues for hours to try and obtain one. This is the first time that sales for new Magic Keys have reopened since they initially went on sale in 2021. Since the initial sales, only renewals were allowed. This is once again the case as new sales of Magic Keys have been suspended once again. Those who already have Magic Keys will still be able to renew but new sales will not be happening again for the foreseeable future.
Disneyland Resort posted a statement for the Magic Key queue that says:
Due to the incredible popularity of our Magic Key program, we have stopped sales of new passes at this time to help protect the experience for Magic Key holders and the value those passes provide. Renewals for current Magic Key holders within their renewal window (up to 30 days before pass expiration) will continue for all available pass types (Inspire, Believe, Enchant and Imagine) at this time.

The Disneyland Resort rolled out the Magic Key program in the summer of 2021. It was then modified a year later when renewals for the first group of Magic Keys. Yesterday’s reopening of first-time sales for Magic Keys marked the first time since the initial sales of Magic Keys that they were available in any way beyond renewal. It is unknown if or when Magic Key sales will resume.
The Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass system also currently is on hold for new sales as well. The Walt Disney World Resort shared recently that they will be reopening, but most likely not before the end of this year.
Daps Magic will continue to follow any Magic Key news that becomes available and provide updates when they are confirmed.
