“Doctor Who” Headed to Disney+ in 2023

Doctor Who is heading to Disney+. The announcement was made on Live with Kelly and Ryan by the next Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa. BBC and Disney Branded Television are coming together to take Doctor Who globally. This iconic British show will continue to be broadcast on the BBC in UK and Ireland. The rest of the world will be able to see Doctor Who on Disney+.

BBC and Disney Branded Television have come together with returning show runner Russel T. Davies, who is taking over the show once again in 2023. He was behind Doctor Who’s revival in 2005 and is frequently given credit for turning it into one of televisions greatest hits.

Davies said, “I love this show, and this is the best of both worlds – with the vision and joy of the BBC and Disney+ together we can launch the TARDIS all around the planet, reaching a new generation of fans while keeping our traditional home firmly on the BBC in the UK.”

“We are thrilled to announce this exciting global partnership with Disney who are the perfect partners to bring this very British show to the rest of the world.  Russell T Davies’ vision for Doctor Who has always been out of this world and we are committed to ensuring that audiences across the globe get the opportunity to enjoy the Doctor’s epic adventures with the scale and ambition that they deserve.” said Charlotte Moore, BBC’s Chief Content Officer. ” Joining forces with Disney will elevate the show to even greater heights and reach new audiences so it’s an extremely exciting time for fans in the UK and across the world.”

New episodes of the show will arrive on the BBC and Disney+ in November 2023. This will coincide with the show’s 60th anniversary. It will be produced by Wales by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios Production.

With the announcement of the partnership between the BBC and Disney+, a new logo for the show was also revealed. It is billed as a new logo for a new era.
