Summer has come to its conclusion at the Disneyland Resort. On Thursday, September 1, 2022 the Main Street Electrical Parade once again glowed away into the night for the last time… for the summer. Along with the Main Street Electrical Parade saying adieu, Disneyland Forever, the fireworks spectacular that first debuted during Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Celebration, also said goodbye.
Both nighttime spectaculars made their return in May for a summer run. Their return brought a heavy dose of nostalgia to the Disneyland Resort. Guests flocked in to see both shows and to have a Disney experience that continued to feel more like the normal they knew before the park closed in March 2020. Both did not disappoint as guests enjoyed their performances’ music and magic throughout the summer.
The Main Street Electrical Parade came back with updates, as is often the case when it makes a return. Through the years it has been updated many times. This time, the biggest update was with the finale unit. It was inspired by it’s a small world and brought in several Disney characters to the finale. It concluded with a rolling castle, also inspired by the attraction. Artist Ashley Taylor made this beautiful design. Designs were also projected on it’s a small world, The Matterhorn, and Sleeping Beauty Castle as the finale rolled by. Along with the updates, the parade celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Disneyland Forever was initially unveiled at Disneyland as a part of its 60th-anniversary celebration in 2015. It begins by reminiscing about how the place where those watching are standing was once all orange groves. It moves on into a magical montage of just how far that dream has grown through the years.
As the summer comes to an end at the Disneyland Resort, Halloween Time arrives. With its arrival comes the return of Halloween Screams, Haunted Mansion Holiday, the Oogie Boogie Bash, Plaza de Familia, and so much more! Halloween Time runs from September 2, 2022 through October 31, 2022 at the Disneyland Resort.
