On July 27, 2022, Light & Magic will be arriving on Disney+. Today, a trailer and some photos from the series were released. Made by Lucasfilm and Imagine Documentaries, Light & Magic is “an immersive series that chronicles the untold history of world-renowned Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the special visual effects, animation and virtual production division of Lucasfilm.”
Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan was granted incredible access to take viewers behind the curtain at Industrial Light & Magic. As they go on this adventure, they learn about the pioneers of modern movie-making as George Lucas’ vision was brought to life. These filmmakers have gone on to lead and inspire the entire visual effects industry.
Light & Magic is a six-episode series that is directed by Lawrence Kasdan. The executive producers are Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Justin Wilkes, Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Kennedy, and Michelle Rejwan.
