Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!

Disney Shares Sneak Peek of ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!’ Ahead of Summer Arrival

Disney has shared more details about Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s upcoming show Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Set to open this summer in the Theater in the Wild, guests will get to experience the story of Finding Nemo in a new way during the course of this 25-minute show.

Things will start off by reconnecting with the fish who had escaped Dr. P. Sherman’s office in Sydney, Australia. Now they have made their way across the sea and arrived at the Marine Life Institute. They tell the story of Nemo in their way. This show will again include live performers and puppets, just like its predecessor did. It will also include some favorite songs from Finding Nemo: The Musical.

The show will not only have a new script, but also a new LED video wall and new set pieces. The idea is to “visually extend the world created by the physical sets on stage” with the new LED Wall Disney shared. Some of these set pieces are quite substantial, including a 32-foot-long sunken submarine and also a fish tank volcano that is nearly 15 feet tall.

The show was created in collaboration between Pixar Animation Studios and also artists and designers from Disney Live Entertainment. Together they created a new aesthetic for the show. It is inspired by layered, cut paper sculptures. Disney shares that this will bring a new look to the show while also staying true to the original film. A video sneak peek was also released ahead of the show’s arrival this summer.

An exact date for Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! has not been released yet. It is only known that it will be released this summer. This continues the celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary that began in October. What do you think of the updated version of this show? Are you excited about it? Below is a look at the original show. Share your thoughts and comments about both in the comments!
