You Are the Magic

Disney Releases Video of Recording of You Are the Magic for Disney Enchantment Fireworks Ahead of Magic Kingdom Arrival

With just weeks to go until Walt Disney World Resort begins the celebration of its 50th Anniversary, Disney has released a video of one of the elements of this celebration. The song You Are the Magic will be featured in Magic Kingdom’s new fireworks spectacular Disney Enchantment. The show will inspire Disney guests to believe in themselves and make their dreams come true.

You Are the Magic is an original song written for Disney Enchantment. Written by Philip Lawrence, it marks a return to Walt Disney World Resort for him. He started his career at Walt Disney World performing in Festival of the Lion King and also Tarzan Rocks! Since then, he has pursued his dreams and through hard work and dedication has become a songwriter and music producer with 18 GRAMMY nominations and winning seven GRAMMY Awards. These were through collaborations with artists like Bruno Mars on songs like Uptown Funk and 24K Magic.

The song, You Are the Magic, inspires people “for the journey ahead and touch our hearts and minds.” This culminates with emotional moments in Disney Enchantment as it helps people discover to look inside to ignite the magic that is already there.

Philip Lawrence didn’t just write this song. He also performs it. This is done with actor and singer Kayla Alvarez, who also happens to be a former Walt Disney World cast member. Disney shared a video of them recording the song with a full orchestra. Check it out here:

The entire song will be able to be heard when Disney Enchantment debuts on October 1, 2021, at Magic Kingdom as The World’s Most Magical Celebration begins. The show will be presented by Pandora Jewelry. It is one of many new offerings coming to Walt Disney World Resort for its 50th Anniversary.
