Traditionally, Springtime at the Disneyland Resort means the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival! Last year, COVID-19 cut this celebration short and until today, it looked like there wouldn’t be a festival this year either. This morning, it was announced that Disney California Adventure Park would be hosting a “Food Experience” beginning in March!
This event will be ticketed and it will give guests a chance to eat around Disney California Adventure Park. At this time, it is unclear how much of the park will be open and all of the details surrounding it. While more of Disney California Adventure Park will be opening for this experience, Avengers Campus will remain closed.
We do know that this event will bring more than 700 cast members back to work! With the opening of Buena Vista Street, 230 cast members have already come back, so this means nearly one thousand cast members will be returning!
It has been said that the event will run multiple days per week and will include entertainment, but no parades. I will be incredibly interested to see how Disney can create entertainment in a safe way, while also feeling the Disney magic. The biggest question mark will be around the Buena Vista Street experience. Will this still be a free portion of the Downtown Disney District? Or will the new food experience change things? Only time will tell.
The OC Register article also hinted that there will be a special opportunity for legacy passholders with this event.
If you want to be in on the news, like how much tickets will cost, the name of the festival, or how legacy passholders can get a special deal, be sure to follow along with us here at DAPS MAGIC. You can also reach out to us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram if you have any questions!
We can’t wait to safely see you in the park!
