New Trailer Arrives for Raya and the Last Dragon!

Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios released a new trailer for its upcoming fantasy-adventure film Raya and the Last Dragon. Along with the trailer, a new poster and images were shared.

Raya and the Last Dragon has an incredible voice cast. It features the vocal talents of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya. She is joined by Awkwafina as the legendary dragon, Sisu. Gemma Chan portrays Raya’s nemesis, Namaari. Raya’s father Benja is voiced by Daniel Day Kim. Namaari’s mother Virana is voiced by Sandra Oh. Benedict Wong voices Tong, a “formidable giant.” Izaac Wang plays Boun who is a 10-year old entrepreneur. Thalia Tran plays the mischievous toddler named Little Noi. Alan Tudyk lends his voice as Tuk Tuk, Raya’s best friend and trusty steed. Dang Hu, the leader of the land of Talon, is voiced by Lucille Soong. Patti Harrison is the chief of the Tail land and Ross Butler is chief of the Spine Land.

The trailer gives a deeper look at exactly what Raya is doing in the movie and why. It also appears to show the tone of the movie (epic action-comedy), however, that could be just what was decided to be shown. Take a look at the trailer below and then share your thoughts about it!

Raya and the Last Dragon Description

“Raya and the Last Dragon” takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Raya and the Last Dragon is being directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada. Paul Briggs and John Ripa are co-directing. The producers are Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho. The writers for the film are Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim. It will be coming to theaters on March 5, 2021. On the same day, it will also be available on Disney+ with Premier Access in most Disney+ markets. Premier Access requires a Disney+ subscription and then an additional $29.99 to watch the film.
