Walt Disney World Resort has extended flexibility around booking for guests wishing to visit before the end of 2020. This comes after it was recently acknowledged by Disney CEO Bob Chapek on an earnings call that Walt Disney World has not had as many out of town tourists visiting as originally expected. With the uncertainty of travel because of COVID-19, travelers don’t want to risk vacation time and money on a vacation that may not end up happening.
To help counter this, Disney has extended its policy that allows guests to change their reservations without any change or cancellation fees. Here is the official update on the policy from Disney:
Book with ConfidenceEnjoy added peace of mind when you book your next Disney vacation! If your plans change, any Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees will be waived up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through December 31, 2020.
This policy will make booking a Walt Disney World Resort trip a little bit easier as tourists look to mitigate risk. While this does mean that there will be no change or cancellation fees at Walt Disney World Resort, this does not cover any potential fees associated with changes to travel plans. Those would come from individual airlines or other forms of travel.
