Just ahead of the arrival of Star Trek: Lower Decks on CBS All Access Star Trek: Discovery also has announced when it will be arriving on the streaming service. This week it was announced that Star Trek: Discovery will be arriving on CBS All Access on October 15th. The 13 episodes that make up the third season of Star Trek: Discovery will continue to be released weekly on Thursdays.
Star Trek: Discovery Season Three
The news was revealed via video of a Federation flag being planted by Commander Burnham, played by Sonequa Martin-Green, on a desolate planet. This is presumably far off in the future after the events that led to Burnham and the U.S.S. Discovery to travel inside a wormhole. Now in the future, they are finding much of what they once knew is no longer anything like they knew it… including the Federation. The crew now must band together and with some new friends to try and restore hope to the Federation.
More Star Trek on the Wa
With the arrival of both Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Discovery the Star Trek franchise edges towards having continual content coming out for fans to devour. Along with these two shows, the second season of Star Trek: Picard is in the works as is a Captain Pike show on the Enterprise called Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This will feature the return of Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock. A Section 31-based series with Michelle Yeoh is in development as well. Finally (for now), there is also a CG animated series called Star Trek: Prodigy in the works for Nickelodeon.
