Shanghai, June 30, 2020 – Summer is one of the best times of the year thanks to its long days of sunshine, cool nights, and refreshing seasonal surprises. And this year at Shanghai Disney Resort, guests can immerse themselves in a summer like no other, with a series of water-inspired shows, refreshing food and beverages, stylish new merchandise items, fun nighttime activities and plenty more. Starting July 3 through August 31, 2020, from festivities inside the park to open street activities in Disneytown and games in the two resort hotels, the spirit of the season is in full swing from dawn till dusk.

Water Fun is All Around!

Mickey and his pals are bringing out some of the coolest gear and splashiest shows for a festive summer this year. The popular Summer Blast Castle Show will return to the Enchanted Storybook Castle stage, bringing with it beloved Disney characters, world-class performers, spectacular music and a refreshing dose of water surprises to keep guests cool in the summer heat. Duffy and his friends will also appear in their new summer costumes along the parade route as they lead the way in the fan-favorite Duffy’s Splashing Cavalcade with water wands in-hand. And this year, guests can also head to Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land to get a little wet with the return of Farmer Al’s Splash Around.

Make the Most of Cool Summer Nights

As the sun starts to sink and the street lights flicker on, Shanghai Disney Resort unveils its vibrant evening heart. The Enchanted Storybook Castle will come to life with music and colorful lights for special evening magical moments, and iconic landmarks throughout Shanghai Disneyland will light up in dazzling colors, serving as magnificent photo backdrops for guests to take the perfect photo. From July 3 through August 31, guests may purchase a Summer Half-Day ticket, which is valid for entry to Shanghai Disneyland after 16:00 on a pre-selected date from July 3 through August 31, 2020, to make the most of their summer evenings.

Beyond the park, the summer fun continues with the first-ever “Night Life in Disneytown,” which features a brand new night market sure to be bustling with guests of all ages enjoying cool summer evenings. Throughout the season, craft stations and food booths will open and street performances will dazzle, and ‘Summer Nights Selections’ will be hosted at some of the Disneytown locations, featuring fantastic wine selections and snacks to be enjoyed in the cool summer air.

As a highlight of summer, watermelons are set to take center stage on many of the food and beverages on offer, from watermelon sippers and popcorn buckets, to watermelon-flavored ice cream, sundaes and fruit cups. And Duffy and his newest friend, ‘Olu Mel have inspired a variety of summer-exclusive treats and desserts, including the Duffy and Friends afternoon tea, ice cream waffle cones, and the Duffy and Friends Surprise Sippers.

The extremely popular snow ice bowls will make a return to Wandering Moon Restaurant and Barbossa’s Bounty, where guests can also find a range of scrumptious seasonal meals.
