This morning, Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort officially closed to the public. While Walt Disney World has still not officially announced a date that they will reopen to guests, Shades of Green has announced that their closure will begin today and last until May 15.
While most resorts on Walt Disney World property closed the week of March 16, Shades of Green is not operated by the Walt Disney Company. The resort is operated by the United States Department of Defense and is one of five Armed Forces Recreation Centers around the world. These centers aim to give members of the United States armed forces a way to relax and enjoy time with their families. This property is surrounded by two PGA golf courses that offer military discounts to golf on.
At this time, Walt Disney World has not made any statement on staying closed longer than the original two weeks that were announced. We believe that Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort are monitoring the situation closely and will open to guests once again when it is safe to do so. Until then, we have many videos from the parks to enjoy while the parks are closed! Be sure to check out the link below if you’re missing the parks like we are.
The news on the parks continues to change every day due to the developments on COVID-19 around the world. Be sure to follow along on all of our social media to not miss any of the news as it happens.
