It was a mild day at the Disneyland Resort in terms of weather, which was good.
I got to the Toy Story Parking Lot around 11:30am, and it was a breeze to park. Bus loading, security, and entry into Disneyland was fairly quick. I entered Disneyland around 11:50am and started browsing through the shops on Main Street. Valentine’s Day themed merchandise was readily available throughout the shops.
Around 12:10pm, I met up with Mr. DAPs and Caitie. We went to the Emporium to see if we could find the new Ink & Paint Collection that was released on Friday. All we could find was the new spirit jersey. Then we decided to head towards the Castle to take some photos of the Castle show as it was about to begin.
After the March, we made our way around Fantasyland and got an up close view of the refurbishment for Snow White’s Scary Adventures. Artwork has been placed on the scrim and on the construction walls. We are definitely looking forward to seeing this updated attraction in the Spring.
Soon after, we went to Market House Starbucks for coffee, and headed towards Fantasyland. The Mad Hatter and Alice were just about to take a few rides with guests on the Mad Tea Party. Moments like this are fun to watch, especially when the guests the characters are riding with are having the time of their lives!
After a few rides, Mad Hatter and Alice left the Mad Tea Party, and we followed along only to be met up by the Evil Queen. The interaction between the three of them was great! It’s something that definitely wasn’t scripted, and just allowed the characters to be themselves!
From there, we headed to a Galaxy far, far away. We caught up with Kylo Ren and some stormtroopers who were being suspicious of Caitie’s datapad transmissions. She was questioned for awhile, but was released soon after.
We next headed towards Disney California Adventure, and stopped by Haunted Mansion to check out its refurbishment progress. A scrim featuring concept art was placed on the Mansion exterior, and it was to see.
Once at Disney California Adventure, we sat at Sonoma Terrace and people watched. After awhile, we decided to watch the Lunar New Year Procession and then walk around Pixar Pier.
We soon made our way to Hollywood Land. While there, I got the plant-based tacos from the Studio Catering Company. The tacos consist of soy chorizo, potato, a plant-based crema, and salsa de arbol. I enjoyed the tacos, and will definitely order them again.
It was soon time for dinner so we went to Award Wieners. I got the BBQ Crunch Dog, which is one of my favorites from there, as well as the Apple Pie Funnel Cake Fries. Those were really good, and I would get them again.
After dinner, we headed to Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. It was fun to take a nice tour of Monstropolis. From there, we headed to Salt & Straw in Downtown Disney. I got one of the flavors in ‘The Chocolatier Series’ – Milla’s Chocolate Hazelnut Praline. It’s a hazelnut butter ice cream that has bits of crisp chocolate and a swirl of dense Nutella fudge. I couldn’t taste much of the Nutella, but I did enjoy the ice cream. It was very creamy and smooth, which made for a great flavor.
We then made our way to World of Disney and finally saw more of the Ink & Paint Collection from earlier in the day. There’s a wide variety of items, including socks, kitchen towels, napkin sets, bowls, and lots more. Some of the items even allow you to create your own masterpiece by adding color to them.
After browsing through World of Disney, we made our way to Disneyland for a grand circle tour on the Disneyland Railroad. It was quite cold, and after our tour, we called it a night.
Overall, it was a super fun day to be at the Disneyland Resort. It didn’t seem as busy as it could have been, which was great! More adventures are coming next week, so stay tuned for more fun and magic!
