The weather report had been uncertain throughout the day with rain predicted. However, the procession began and the skies did not drop precipitation on the event. In fact, the night was quite comfortable. It wasn’t too cool, the rain didn’t fall, and the spirits of those in attendance were warm.

At around 5:30, the orchestra tuned and the music began. Within minutes the mass choir made its way into Town Square as it sang Christmas carols. Once the choir was in place, Lin-Manuel Miranda was introduced by the voice of Disneyland Bill Rogers.

Miranda’s delivery of the Christmas story was exactly what one would expect from him. It was quick and full of spirit. The accompanying choir was beautiful, as was the orchestra, fanfare trumpeters, and handbell choir. Other than a few sprinkles that could be seen coming down through the spotlights, performance went off without hitch.
