On October 2, 2016, The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History arrived at the Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square. Since then, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo (and Chickens), Sam Eagle and the town crier J.J. Jefferson have been telling some of the great moments in history, “but only the American ones.”
There are two stories that were told by The Muppets in Liberty Square. The two tales covered were about the Declaration of Independence and also The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. Each story was told with the traditional Muppet humor and was also full of music.
According to the Walt Disney World Resort entertainment guide, September 30, 2019, will be the final day of performances for The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History. For that date, shows are scheduled throughout the day. On October 1, 2019, there are no shows currently scheduled. As always with Disney, the entertainment guide could always change. However, this does seem in line with the recent cutback of entertainment across the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Currently, as scheduled, The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History’s final schedule for September 30th will be as follows:
- 11:05 AM
- 12:05 PM
- 12:40 PM
- 1:10 PM
- 3:15 PM
- 3:50 PM
- 4:25 PM
- 5:15 PM
DAPS MAGIC will continue to monitor this story for any updates. Below are videos shot by the DAPS MAGIC team of both versions of the show. More videos can be found on the DAPS MAGIC YouTube Page and will be going up as the end of this show’s run draws closer. At this point, Disney has not given any official word one way or the other about the future of The Muppets in Liberty Square.
