New Backstage Magic Tour Gives an Inside Look Behind the Scenes at Rivers of Light

A new behind the scenes tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is giving a completely new look at Rivers of Light. This nighttime show is performed in Discovery River lagoon in front of Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Rivers of Light first opened in 2017.

Adventures by Disney’s Backstage Magic Tour get a unique look at this nighttime show. It includes a peek behind the curtain at how this show comes together artistically, technologically, and other magical techniques utilized in the Disney Parks entertainment. Starting in June, this tour will go behind the scenes of Rivers of Light as part of a brand new experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This is a daytime tour that is exclusive to Adventures by Disney. It will take guests backstage to a hidden marina where both animal and lotus barges will be getting prepared for the evening’s performance. The Backstage Magic guests that are a part of this tour will be among the first to see the inner workings of Rivers of Light. The tour will share some of the technological and magical secrets that make this show magical.

The tour will also include a private lunch at Tiffin’s restaurant featuring a special menu created for this tour. This will also include “insider” stories from the creation of the start. This experience will begin in June.

Backstage Magic Tours are an Adventures by Disney experience led by knowledgable tour guides. They offer the experience for guests to get a look behind the scenes at what goes into creating the magic in the Disney Theme Parks. The Disney Parks Blog shared the following Back Stage Magic tours:

On the Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic Tour, guests visit Walt Disney World Central Shops where they get up close with the artisans whose skill and craftsmanship make dreams come true all around the Resort – from the tiniest details to elaborate stage sets. (Disney)

Magic Kingdom: Become immersed in the story that started with Walt himself as you navigate the “utilidor” tunnels, a network of underground passageways constructed beneath the theme park so Disney Cast Members can move around undetected – right beneath guests’ feet!
