Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Attraction Names Unveiled at Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse

There is lots of news coming out of Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. Today Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, shared about some things that are coming to the Disney Parks.

“We are currently in the midst of one of the most extraordinary periods of expansion in our history,” Chapek said. “We are always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible as we deliver world-class experiences and attractions, new hotels and entertainment, itineraries and destinations for our guests.”

One of the expansions that is happening revolves around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. During the presentation, Chapek revealed more details about the two attraction. Ever since this new land at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood studios was first announced, fans have been scrounging for more details about it. Now, the names of the two attractions are known. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance are what the two attractions will be called. A video for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has also been shared. Take a look below.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will have guests joining a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Kylo Ren will even be a part of this! Both of these attractions, along with the land’s interactive components and the Play Disney Parks app will allow guests to visit and live in that galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars wouldn’t be Star Wars without the incredible music of John Williams. The Academy Award-winning composer has created themes specifically for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Those guests in attendance at Destination D were given a preview of some of the music. DAPS MAGIC’s own Murray said, “the new John Williams Galaxy’s Edge theme gave me goosebumps!”

Attendees of Destination D were also given a preview of what the new Star Wars resort will look like. This resort, outside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will offer guests a completely immersive experience. This multi-day experience will give guests the experience of riding aboard a luxury starship. It has all the amenities of a first class hotel. It will include incredible dining, recreation, and accommodations. All of this will be from the world of Star Wars which includes all the fun adventures one would expect!
