Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are certainly undergoing construction. Main Street is walled up almost immediately coming in. Around the flag is boarded up for tearing up of the horse-drawn streetcar track. It’s also as boarded up around the central hub. Dumbo is closed off as well, but that also has Casey Jr. not running while a new queue is being built for the flying attraction.
In Disney California Adventure Paradise Pier is a bit of a ghost town with how many shops, food locations, and attractions are closed in the back. The California Screamin’ loop is off the track now. Mickey’s Fun Wheel gondolas are off each loop. Pixar Pier is slowly taking shape. Along the blue walls were previously some upcoming graphics for the newly rethemed area, but these are gone now. The Incredicoaster’s graphics remain, though.
It is of note that the Pier is cut off in the middle of Toy Story Mania. Guests cannot get through past its queue to go to Paradise Gardens.
Grizzly River is down for refurbishment as well, and it also appears that the bridge going to an overlook is getting some work done. School bands performing for Disney Performing Arts march down DCA parade route because of the Main Street construction. Wine Country Trattoria was also having some work done.
In all, there is a lot of construction and refurbishments, and Christmas decorations are being taken off at a bit of a slow pace. There was still snow on Sleeping Beauty Castle and some decorations in other areas of DCA.
That’s about all that is going on at the parks. Soon Lunar New Year will start, but before will be the Disneyland After Dark party. We’ll get you some updates soon!
