Last Friday, the Disney themed Easter egg hunt, Egg-stravaganza, kicked off in the Disneyland Resort. This spring favorite activity has three different maps, meaning there is a hunt for Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney district. The maps are available for purchase in Disneyana for Disneyland, Oswald’s in DCA, and World of Disney for the Downtown Disney hunt.
The maps come with 12 stickers, and vague clues to get you around the park. These hints can turn into a fun challenge, especially when going on this hunt with a team of friends. The eggs are fairly large, and painted with a Disney character, so you would think they wouldn’t be too difficult too find, but there was at least one egg in each map that proved itself to be more of a challenge.
The best piece of advice I have for these maps are to take your time and really have fun exploring the park. When I was having a hard time tracking down an egg in a certain spot, I would move on and look for more, and come back when I had less stickers. This way, I had a better idea of what character I was looking for and could try to spot it more easily. Don’t be afraid to go searching for other eggs while you’re stuck. Maybe you’ll come back and see everything in a way you didn’t before!
Once you have finished with the map, or have decided to call off the egg search, you can turn in your map, no matter how many stickers you collected, for a fun prize! While the prizes are included with the purchase of a map, there is an additional, passholder exclusive pin available for purchase at the redemption areas located on the map.
Overall, it’s a fun activity to weave into any already planned Disney Day, or even to make a day out of the hunts themselves. The hunt will last until April 16th, so make sure to get in to the park before these eggs disappear until next year!
