Red Rose Taverne Open For Delicious Beauty and the Beast Inspired Meals at Disneyland

Village Haus in Disneyland’s Fantasyland has been transformed into a restaurant inspired by the past and upcoming Beauty and the Beast film.  The inside and outside has some received a small makeover to give some environment from the movies.

Roses are seen throughout the restaurant, both out and in.  After all, it is called the Red Rose Taverne.  The signage reveals the namesake, but the real key is the rose in glass case above the registers.

The dining rooms have two different themes to them.  One side is made after Gaston’s Tavern, and it’s clear he has done the decorating since there are many antlers throughout.  The other side pays homage to the enchantment of the castle, with murals of the characters like Mrs. Potts and Lumiere.  The live action Mrs. Potts and Chip appears on a shelf above the tables, which shows there’s inspiration from both films.

Besides these decorations, other murals and stained glass have the Beauty and the Beast touch making this a truly themed restaurant.

The menu has some very unique items for guests to feast on.  There are a couple of burgers, one being simple, and the other being beastly.  A vegetarian friendly sandwich with a cauliflower patty is offered.  Three different flatbread pizzas area available.  Poutine fries and a chopped salad round out the more unique fare for purchase.

On the dessert menu is a Grey Stuff Gateau, and a Lemon Rose Cake.  A special drink named after villain, Gaston, can be drank even in a souvenir mug.

Out of the food I was able to eat, I had the chopped salad and Grey Stuff Gateau.  The salad is a nice change for a quick serve eatery.  It was a filling dish with chicken, hard boiled egg and bacon to add to the usual lettuce and other veggies.  The dressing gave a sweet and tangy taste.  The Gateau was delicious and well put together.  The actual grey stuff is a cookies and cream type mousse.  It was all over a red velvet cake with a single raspberry between the frosting and cake itself.  Underneath was a shortbread type cookie to give an almost pie crust appeal.

It was hard to choose one entree from the menu as so much of it sounds delicious on first look.  It will certainly be a repeatable restaurant both for ambiance and dishes.

The restaurant will be open for a limited time, so be sure to check it out as soon as you can.  And let us know what you think of the items you eat!
