Pixar and Disney have released the official teaser trailer to Cars 3. The third film will debut in Summer of 2017, but we get to see a bit of what’s in store.
The teaser starts with familiar territory. We see parts of a race that Lightning McQueen is in. Suddenly something goes wrong. And then an ominous message appears on the screen. It’s clear this will be a much more serious Cars movie than previous ones.
The description given with the YouTube trailer is:
“Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!”
Cars 3 will be released June 16, 2017.
