New Albino Wallaby Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Jumping Junction

A new rare albino wallaby joey has made its debut at Jumping Junction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Named Joey, she is a one-of-a-kind find at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. She is already available for guests to see when they visit Jumping Junction at Conservation Station. The @animalsatdisney Instagram account shared the following information about Quartz:

Meet Quartz, our newest wallaby joey at Jumping Junction! Born with albinism, Quartz’s rare appearance makes her one of a kind at Disney’s #AnimalKingdom. Keep your eyes peeled for this special little joey during your next visit!

A wallaby is a small or middle-sized macropod. They are native to Australia and New Guinea. They have also been introduced to New Zealand, Hawaii, the United Kingdom, and other countries. They are in the same taxonomic family as kangaroos. Sometimes they are also in the same genus. However, a “kangaroo” is the name used for the four largest species of the family. The term “wallaby” is the common name (informal designation) used for macropods that are smaller than a kangaroo or a wallaroo that isn’t designated otherwise.

Along with seeing Quartz at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Jumping Junction, there are also opportunities to see kangaroos. In Conservation Station, there is also the opportunity to see Bluey and Bingo! What do you think about the arrival of Quartz at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Are you going to see her in person?
