Disney and Pixar Release First Look at ‘Cars on the Road’

The next road trip for the friends at Radiator Springs is heading to Disney+ on September 8, 2022. This day is Disney+ day and it will see Lightning McQueen and best friend Mater going on a road-trip East to meet Mater’s sister. “The series is a romp across the country with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” says director Steve Purcell. “Like any real road trip, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists and turns.”

Today, the first trailer was released for this series. With the trailer, comes key art and a still from the show. Both Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy are returning to lend their voices to Lightning McQueen and Mater for this series. Check out the trailer below!

The nine-episode series is produced by Marc Sondheimer. Steve Purcell directed episodes 1, 2, and 8. Bobby Podesta directed Episodes 5, 6, and 9. Brian Fee directed episodes 3, 4, and 7. Jake Monaco composed the score for all of the episodes.

Disney+ Day is on September 8, 2022. This comes right before this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. Throughout the day as part of the celebration, there will be unique experiences for fans and subscribers of the streaming service. There will also be new content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
