New Themed Attractions Headed to Tokyo Disney Resort by 2020

On Wednesday, huge news was released in part of the upcoming Tokyo Disney Resort expansion. Oh My Disney covered the exciting details.

From attractions, to shows and even meet and greets, the resort which includes Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea aims to have these new forms of entertainment ready by 2020. Time to start planning a trip overseas because this stuff looks pretty awesome!

First off, the blog states the Fantasyland area will receive an expansion. The expansion will overflow and take part of the current land, Tomorrowland. So far a Beauty and the Beast attraction, with be an eight plus minute experience, will debut in the park. The attraction has yet to be named but this concept art says a lot.

In a statement by Disney, the attraction is described as, “Guests board enchanted serving dishes that dance in rhythm to the film’s well-known music and follow Belle on a romantic musical adventure inside the enchanted Castle where she dances her way into the heart of Beast, just in time to break the fateful spell.” Even more so, the land will feature a new shop and themed restaurant. Also, the land will receive a brand new Fantasyland theater.

Over in Tomorrowland, a Big Hero 6 attraction was also announced. Said to be a similar experience to that of Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure Park,  the unnamed attraction will be “an exciting musical ‘whip ride’ that swings them unpredictably round and round.” Guests can also expect a new themed shop in the area which will sell a variety of popcorn flavors and more.

Near the entrance of Toontown, a brand new character meet and greet location is also set to debut. “After walking through Minnie’s design studio and her work area with interactive elements, guests can meet Minnie in person, take pictures with her, and generally spend a memorable time together.”
