There is something almost surreal about sitting in a theater to watch a movie preview that seems to be taking place just outside of said theater. That’s what feels like is happening when guests watch the preview for Tomorrowland in the Magic Eye Theater inside of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.
Disneyland Annual Passholders were given the opportunity to watch Tomorrowland’s preview between 6:00 and 10:00 PM on Thursday evening before it opened to the general public the next day. The queue to the theater has been decorated with a new paint job and a small exhibit to showcase the feel and theme of the story that is about to be told inside of the theater. TVs outside show a Tomorrowland graphic, but nothing else. A new sign also adorns the outside of the theater.
Once inside, fans are able to see the preview that shows a completely different part of the story than has been seen in previous clips from the movie. It centers around the events happening at the World’s Fair and is clearly the beginning of something important. The scenery also seems very familiar as the look and feel are recreate Walt Disney’s contributions to the World’s Fair. Overall, this is done pretty well. There is more to the preview but for now… just know that it is worth going and seeing.
Across from the exit of the Magic Eye Theater a new Tomorrowland exhibit can now be found in the Starcade. There is actually quite a lot packed into this little exhibit and many people spent quite some time going through each piece of the exhibit.
Tomorrowland will be hitting theaters on May 22, 2015. For now, stop by Disneyland’s Tomorrowland and get a chance to see the preview. Then, let us know what you thought of it!
