The Fifth Estate Coming to Blu-ray January 28th!

The Fifth Estate

The Fifth Estate, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange, will be  coming to Blu-Ray on January 28, 2013. This is the story of how Julian Assange used the internet to expose many of the top secrets of the world. This movie is based on true life events with a theatrical slant to it.

Benedict Cumberbatch is a hot commodity in Hollywood these days. He appears in the title role in the BBC’s Sherlock and also played Kahn in last year’s Star Trek Into Darkness. The director Bill Condon made a name for himself with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 1 & 2, Kinsey, and Gods and Monsters.

The Fifth Estate did not perform well at the box office with just $3,255,008 domestically. It’s foreign take was just $5,800,000. Considering this movie took around $28 million to produce, this was not even close to a money maker. However, Benedict Cumberbatch may be a draw for it when it is more accessible via digital and blu-ray come January.

DAPs Magic will be reviewing The Fifth Estate.
