Eve special. I know why it's the ABC New Year's Eve special. Oh, because Yeah. You want you want

I would like it to be on Anderson and Andy. Yeah, but so we we have this teaser that was

teased and with the tease of the teaser, they showed Miss Piggy and and kind of

hinted that maybe she will be there. I don't know. I might be reading into things too much. But she does look very um glamorous. She

looks like a diva. Um basically everything I'd expect from Miss Piggy either on New Year's Eve or in the show.

So either would be fine. I would expect all. Yeah, it's it's it's all good. Um, but that's that's going to

be a blast. And um I think we're actually gonna get to see the new Muppet

show. Like we're going to get to see clips from it this time, whereas the

first teaser was Kermit turning on the lights. Yeah. Which I had this thought the first time I

watched it, then we rewatched it. And I I think it's nice that they used

I don't need that in the Muppet Show special event. I fully expect it to be just because I

feel like they're like, "Oh, we have to do this for everything because this is the Muppets." Yeah. But it's not. Um,

you know what I wish was overused? Magic Store. Although you're going to say Monomina.

Um, I wish Magic Store was overused cuz I love Magic Store and I think it actually

sums up The Muppets really, really well. Rainbow Connection is beautiful. It is touching. But um Magic Store has the

after watching the studio I trust Seth Rogan to be able to walk a delicate line. I in general do also like I depending on

how deeply involved he is. Um, so it'll it'll be very interesting to see what

they do, how they do it, all of that fun stuff. And um, and we will get to see the return of a couple of old friends

that haven't been around for a very, very, very, very, very long time. Um, at

least I think almost a decade for one. But, uh, we will get Bean Bunny and

Rizzo the Rat back for this show. And they made their first returns with um

Christmas greetings that were put out this last week. One by was it Disney Vacation Club and then the other was the

Muppets. Yes. And um I was like lucky Disney Vacation Club. I mean yeah,

how cool. How did you get into that one? Yeah. I was like what the heck? Not not Disney Cruise Line, not Disney parks, Disney Vacation Club. It's like

okay cool though. Um, so we are going to see Rizzo return for the first time in about

a decade cuz he was on your very um muchbeloved Muppets ABC.

Correct. Right. Yeah. Did I get that right? And I believe Bean hasn't been around since 2009.

Yeah. And that was like a it's a it's a video. Yeah. Um, so he

will be coming back with the um under the handling, I'm going to call it, of a

guy named Bradley Freeman Jr. who is on Sesame Street and he's done some

assisting on the Muppets. And the crazy part is though, he's only been I think

on Sesame Street since 2021. So yeah, it's like 21 or 22. It's only been like four, three or four

years and he's going from that to like king of the castle. Like I think this is

amazing that what I think is very interesting is um

we've talked about it kind of over the years um as Muppets fans. It's kind of

like the when is it going to be the right time to bring back uh Rizzo? Like

specifically Rizzo. We we weren't even talking about being done yet. We were just like when was it the right time to bring back Rizzo? Um, and I think that

they did the right thing by waiting for the right performer, um, and the right handler. Um, because

it sounds as if Bean and Rizzo never left. Mhm. And it's really impressive. Um,

obviously, and this is also something we talk about very frequently, puppeteering, a voice is only half the

battle. You also need to be able to animate a puppet in a way that is true

and honest and correct. So, we're going to see more of that, which I'm really

really really looking forward to. Um, but it was like it it was Christmas

Eve, but it felt like Christmas morning. I was like, "Oh my god, Rizzo and Bean Bunny are back." Um, it was also really

nice to hear Rizzo say, "Light the lamp, not the rat." Well, I can't tell you how many people texted me going, "Oh, they brought them back and they brought Steve

Whitmire back." Which they did not. Um, which I have nothing, you know, one way

or the other, but um, but like it was pretty crazy to me at

how spot-on, I guess you could say. Like, it's not perfect.

No. But also, if we were to hear someone perform today versus what 10, 20 years

ago, almost 10, 15 years ago, their voices change, too. You listen to Gonzo today versus

oh, Muppets in Space or Muppet Vision, whatever you want to call it. Um, like the voices change. They

evolve. They they age and and that's just a part of of life. But um but it

was funny how many people flat out I gave them the name and they're like,

"No, that's Steve Whitmer." I'm like, "It really is this new guy." Like, but that is an excellent compliment to

the performer. It is. And uh and I don't know if they're waiting on it or if it was just a um the moment hadn't presented itself.

Like I I almost think there was a well we can't do this without Yeah. specifically these characters for

whatever bit or whatever. They need to have the right play I guess.

And I think it was a good play to show them off early before um before just

showing them in the show. like if they were to pop up in the show in in a month, month and a week, whatever it is,

um I think we'd all be talking about Rizzo and Bean then instead of if the

show was good or bad or how Sabrina Carpenter did or whatever, should there be more. Maybe the story would be, oh,

Bean and and Rizzo are back. Like that would be the bigger story. Whereas they

were smart by putting them out now where we've gotten through this story after I

know we'll still be talking about it, but we'll be getting through the story. It won't be this huge shock on February

thinking about this earlier. One of my favorite Geeks Corner moments of the entire year, um, possibly of the entire

like my entire run on the show. We probably should have packed it up. Um, was the day that the, uh, Muppets

button uh, happened just throughout the show when it wouldn't work.

Yeah. Okay. And then like six different times throughout the show, it was like, "Thanks, dabs. Thanks, Mr. Daps." That I

think that was pretty bad. It No, it wasn't. It was amazing. I mean, it was, but it was also it was the

moment we realized the computer was dead. Yeah, that was actually the moment. Yeah.

Yeah, that was that was rather unfortunate, but Yeah. But no, it's been um it's been a

really exciting year. It's been a really fun year because we've really gotten the

studio back to a place where we get to kind of get into a little bit more hy jinks. Um, and we have people like

glad she has the platform and the opportunity. Um, but yeah, it's just been it's been

media events into one package, but all of the ones that were by coastal. So, where we had our friends

the years, you you do them with the same people quite often. And so, you make uh friendships that that are kind of like

this. We we see each other every Tuesday night and we get to geek out together. And so, you know, getting to hang out

with the Jeffs and the Denes of MouseEps or the LSE of WW radio or whoever else

it might be always a lot of fun. and um and even getting to bump into some of

them at Cotino and make new friends there this year was a lot of fun as well. So that pops into my head. So that kind of encapsulates I guess your um

Walt Disney World and actually Destination D23 event. Um I think the

What else did I think was were highlights this year for us? Oh, I know what 100,000 hitting 100,000 subscribers

on YouTube. That that's kind of cool. Um, Dapsies is sticking out because that always sticks out to me. And that will

be coming in about a month and a half, two months, something like that. It'll be a blast. And uh, we're going to have

really good short films this year, I think. Um, I think just just a hunch.

And, uh, and then, um, I think also, oh, also Tokyo, like all of the stuff in in

Japan was a lot of fun as well. Um, even if raincoats aren't as rainproof as they

Yeah. Strangely enough, my favorite is that um quick anecdote because this is what I do. Um I was talking to someone at a

help desks are all over the country. And it was when it was raining last week. And I said, "Yeah, you know, we're in

Southern California. Like it's raining pretty hard." And he goes, "Oh, you know, I think I heard about that." And he goes, "Where does the water go?" And

then I started laughing because I was like, "Oh, the water doesn't go anywhere." It's Southern California. This wasn't

built for rain. Um, and so we had um we had some laughs. We

had some chuckles together. It's true. Um, that guy was on Central Mountain time. And so I hope that he thinks

fondly of this weird Southern California person that laughs. Um, don't be sad about the rain, Yy.

to a movie that is basically a year away already, which that's crazy. Says it's either going to be the biggest

movie for like the last time I remember looking ahead for like a year.

Well, actually was the last Avengers movie, but when I think historically of this,

I think of Lord of the Rings. Okay. Like the three Lord of the Rings movies.

Those were movies where a year out we were already like, "Oh, I can't wait for this." And mine growing up was a franchise I

So, we already are looking forward to Avengers Doomsday. And with another big movie, Avatar, Fire

and Ash, they have been releasing teasers, uh, different teasers each week, I believe. And so our Avenger of

the week, as those have been getting leaked, Marvel has also been sharing them

officially. So last week we got a Captain America teaser. This week we got

a Thor teaser. You do have to wonder what's coming next. Yeah, Star Wars 2 actually uh for

the year out. Um first off, what did you think of the Captain America?

Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers. I was like, yes, Steve Rogers. Let's be specific. Yes, it is Steve

one I don't understand when we start messing with time travel a little bit too much. Do I know where he is? Do I

know what year it is? No. Do I know like anything? No, not really.

But that's why you watch the movie. That's why you watch the movie. Um, I I think I think he's like doing what Steve

Rogers would be doing. I just think what we're going to see is like the uh

working in the garage throws the rag over his shoulder and he's like, you know, I'm out of the game. Like

I'm curious who's the person that's Sam pulling you think Sam's the one pulling the team together like I can't do this.

I found you. Blah. That's possible. I think it's Sam. Which leads to the second trailer or

teaser, which is Thor. And in this case, both of this both of

these teasers, there's kids involved. which is interesting. Um, raises the stakes.

Yes. And so in this case, Thor is basically praying to his father that he

will return and they he can live a peaceful life after this one last great battle, which is never a good way to

start. Like, you know, this is in the beginning of the movie. Like, if I were to make any

out of the pocket or, you know, out like out of left field predictions, I'm like,

"Oh, that's not good." I was like, you know, the moment you do that, you're done. The last superhero movie that started

with somebody talking about having kids didn't work out so well. Did not work out. But, you know, she

loved him 30,000. So, there you go. Um, I've not really been invested in Marvel

for the past few years. I don't even remember the last Marvel film I saw probably. Um,

but I do think this is interesting. Um, mainly because out of morbid curiosity,

what is gonna top Thanos? Because Thanos wiping out half the planet, pretty

crazy. Um, so it's like, how are the stakes going to get higher? How are the how is Steve Rogers going to come out of

retirement and maybe 60 years in the future? Who knows? Um,

I certainly don't know. I don't understand time travel. I understand Back to the Future. That's it. Um, but

yeah, I I think I'm very interested in what the story is they're going to tell, what's going to happen. Um, and I'm also

just kind of excited to see, you know, the gang get back together. It's been 13 years since the original

Avengers. So, um, I am excited because the Russo brothers, in my opinion, are some of the

best filmmakers for Marvel movies and every movie that they've done, I've

loved and so I think that's going to be great. And Winter Soldier

Civil War. Uh there was another one and then Infinity War and Endgame. One I'm missing in there.

Um but my my bigger point is is they always tend to

um they hit home runs and I agree that this villain arc is very truncated. In

fact, I think it's going to be kind of coming out of left field a little bit.

But on the flip side, it will be good, I think, to give the MCU a reboot. And I

think this will do that. And I have a feeling nobody will have needed

like we'll be able to basically walk into this movie, maybe you haven't seen

anything since Endgame, and you're like, "Oh, okay. I get it." Yeah. like I think it's just going to keep moving things forward and hopefully

give Marvel a a fresh start because I think they got a

little bit derailed when it became about quantity over quality and and they

haven't completely recovered about from that and and so I would like to see that

you know if if they can get the fresh start I think then you can do all these

exciting things that probably were part of the plan originally But then everything went south and so maybe that

means more more X-Men, maybe that means more young Avengers. Who knows? Like

there's there's lots of possibilities that they can go through with this. But um but I think bringing the Russo

brothers in for this and Secret Wars is brilliant because it really does, you know, it hits the nail on the head

and and and gives them a thing. My question is

when do we think the full trailer is going to come out and will it be the Super Bowl again? Because I think so.

I think it's the Super Bowl. Like honestly, I think they might do a teaser a week until then.

Can you imagine all of like that would be funny cuz I think the countdown at the end of it four more five more teasers then.

I think the the teaser or the countdown at the end of the teaser is fun. Do you like this? How long until the movie
