Since its announcement at the 2022 D23 Expo, Porto’s Bakery and Cafe has been highly anticipated by Disney fans. In 2025, work finally began on the construction of this location near the entrance to the Downtown Disney District and the Esplanade. Walls have been up around the future home of Porto’s for quite some time now. They have moved in and out a bit as work continues toward the ultimate goal of Porto’s at the Disneyland Resort.
On Friday, something new appeared in the Esplanade at the Disneyland Resort. An area of the Esplanade that is roughly parallel to the Porto’s site was found to be surrounded by green fences. It is unknown if this is connected with the Porto’s project. Seeing as there is a lot of work happening around the Esplanade and lots of changes happening throughout the Disneyland Resort, anything is possible. What is known is that there is an area of the Esplanade that is closed off by green fences.

There are many changes happening in this area of the Disneyland Resort. Recently, ground was broken on a new parking and transportation facility that will provide a new arrival experience for guests entering the Disneyland Resort from across Harbor Boulevard. As work has continued on this project, there have been many changes happening around the Esplanade. This has led to the demolition of some old ticket booths and the relocation of other facilities in the area.
