DapsWatch Returns with ‘Blackbeard’s Ghost’ Watch Party

September 30, 2026

During the pandemic, the Daps Magic team found a way to share Disney magic together while still apart. This came in the form of what we called “DapsWatch.” Now, after a multi-year hiatus, DapsWatch is back. The first DapsWatch will be the Disney live-action film Blackbeard’s Ghost. It will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The link to the DapsWatch will be found via the link on Daps Magic HQ at DapsHQ.com.

Blackbeard’s Ghost stars Peter Ustinov, Dean Jones, and Suzanne Pleshette. It tells the story of a track coach who inadvertently calls the cursed ghost of the infamous pirate Captain Edward Teach (Peter Ustinov) from “limbo.” More commonly known as Captain Blackbeard, the pirate is bound to Coach Walker (Dean Jones) until he performs a good deed. Along the way, Coach Walker falls in love with Godolphin professor Jo Anne Baker (Suzanne Pleshette), who wishes to help save Blackbeard’s Inn, which is now run by the elderly Daughters of the Buccaneers, descendants of Blackbeard’s crew.

Here is how the DapsWatch will work:

Join Mr. Daps and Caitie Bear on the DapsWatch livestream on YouTube that is shared on Daps Magic HQ.
Open Blackbeard’s Ghost on Disney+ to watch simultaneously with the Daps Magic team and other Buddy Pals.
Start the film at the same time as everyone, as directed by Mr. Daps on the livestream.
Enjoy geeking out and chatting about this classic live-action film in the YouTube chat!

We look forward to watching this film together. It has been a LONG time coming! If you have other ideas for future DapsWatch films, please let us know! We are aiming to do these at least once a month!

We look forward to movie night together once again on Saturday!
