Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game is more than just cards. Recently, at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, this was demonstrated by Greg Tito of Ravensburger. Greg, the Ravensburger team at D23, and Disney Lorcana fans/players showed how there is so much more than cards or a card game to this game. There is beautiful art, and perhaps most importantly, community.
Daps Magic has been on a journey of discovery in recent months with Disney Lorcana. This journey took a major step forward during an interview where Greg shared the basics of what Disney Lorcana TCG is all about. Yes, there are rules and a goal for the game. However, what makes Disney Lorcana special is the passion behind it. There is passion behind the team developing it. Artists bring their own passion to the creation of individual cards (each of which is a beautiful piece of art!). The third prong that makes Disney Lorcana so special is the passion of the fans. It could be seen on display when Daps Magic visited the Disney Lorcana booth at D23.
Fans could be seen playing a Disney Lorcana tournament in one part of the booth (really, it was a whole area, but booth is an easier word to use). A production team could be seen filming the finalists as commentators discussed each move nearby for this broadcast. Another part of the booth saw players looking for and trading cards with each other. This was a collaborative and positive process that was really fun to observe! There was also a wall that showed the story being told in Lorcana, photo ops, and merchandise to be purchased at D23. The line for merchandise was lengthy as fans eagerly waited to add to their collections.
A highlight of the tour of the Disney Lorcana tour was the chance to get to talk with Ravensburger representative Greg. Greg is passionate about Ravensburger and Disney Lorcana TCG.
