Two more ticket booths in the Esplanade have been demolished at the Disneyland Resort. This comes as work gears up on a new parking lot and arrival process on the east side of the Disneyland Resort. The two booths were previously located on the northeast side of the Esplanade. The demolition came just weeks after walls went up around these two structures. Last week also saw the official ground breaking for the new parking structure that will be found across from Harbor Boulevard from the Disneyland Resort. The demolition of these two ticket booths comes after two others were demolished for Portos – Bakery and Cafe on the southwest side of the Esplanade earlier this year.
Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the Disneyland Resort early on Monday morning and discovered that the ticket booths were gone. Yesterday, when the Daps Magic team walked by, they were still there. Check out a few of his photos below.
A New Parking Structure and Arrival Experience
When completed, the new 3.2 million square foot parking structure will add around 6,000 more parking spaces to the Disneyland Resort. The 8-level structure will also have vehicle chargers for 302 electric vehicles. On top of that, there will be space for shuttle and rideshare vehicles. Once people have gotten out of their vehicles or have been dropped off, there will also be security screening found there. The lot will also have dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way. This should help improve parking and traffic flow throughout the Disneyland Resort area.
The new parking and transportation hub will also feature a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard. This will be a part of an all-new esplanade arrival experience. For those who want access to and from Harbor Boulevard, the pedestrian bridge will also offer this. The above concept art gives an idea of what this project will be like when completed. The ticket booths that were demolished were found on the left side of the rendering where the walkway opens up into the Esplanade.
