The Disneyland 70th Celebration may not end until August 9th, but Oogie Boogie is already looking to take over Disney California Adventure. Guests arriving at the second Disneyland Resort park on Monday discovered that the 70th main Celebration decorations on Buena Vista Street had disappeared. In some cases, these milestone decorations had been replaced instead by Halloween Time decorations.

Walking up Buena Vista Street, it was quickly apparent that Carthay Circle Restaurant was getting ready for the arrival of Oogie Boogie. Bats could be seen flying out of the tower. Nearby, where the 70th Celebration Medallion had been residing, was now just grass in anticipation of the arrival of the Headless Horseman. There also were lights to be discovered in trees for the evenings on Buena Vista Street.

Friend of Daps Magic, Mike, stopped by Disney California Adventure on the afternoon of August 3rd and took the following photos and video of the changes that are in place. In the coming days, it would not be surprising at all to see more Halloween Time decorations appearing throughout the park and beyond.

The transition from the 70th Celebration to Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort comes ahead of the first Oogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. This will take place on August 18, 2026. Tickets are still available for this night’s party, along with other nights as well. They can be purchased on the Disneyland website. Halloween Time will continue at the Disneyland Resort through October 31, 2026.
