There were quite a few different surprises during Horizons: A Carousel of Progress Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. At the end of the showcase, it appeared that the show was over. However, Disney Experiences’ Thomas Mazloum had his own “one more thing” moment. During this moment, he announced that Figment and Dreamfinder would be receiving a new adventure.
“We are taking a new journey into imagination at EPCOT with Dreamfinder and Figment!” Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum told the cheering crowd. “I’m so happy to share this news tonight. We know how important this is to you. We’ve heard you, and this is one more way we’re putting you in the center of everything we do.”
With the announcement, host of the showcase Neil Patrick Harris appeared as Dreamfinder, holding Figment. This led to a massive eruption of cheers in the Honda Center. This came after the announcement that Disneyland will be getting a new Tomorrowland as well.
Throughout the night, there were multiple times that Disney demonstrated how the company has been listening to its fans and continuing to put them at the center of future decisions that are being made. This included the above announcements, news about the fixing of the Yeti at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and many others.
