Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition Closes for Refurbishment

Near the entrance of Frontierland, there is a classic attraction that brings the Old West to life. The Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition is that attraction. Guests normally can amble up to this cabin, drop a couple of quarters in, pick up a rifle, and find themselves getting some target practice in the legendary Boot Hill in Tombstone, Arizona. Currently, the attraction is closed for refurbishment.

The building is surrounded by walls and scrims currently. There is a sign that says:

NOTICE

FRONTIERLAND SHOOTIN’ EXPOSITION IS OUT OF AMMO.

PLEASE VISIT OTHER LOCATIONS WHILE WE RESUPPLY.

Here is the official description for the Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition:

Take aim and fire at nearly 100 targets during an old-time Wild West shootout.

Take Yer Best Shot

Mosey on up to a rustic log cabin and hoist a replica .54-caliber Hawkins buffalo rifle to your shoulder. Peer through the scope and see legendary Boot Hill in Tombstone, Arizona—a notorious Old West town.

With nearly 100 interactive targets, the setting provides a picture-perfect backdrop to test your marksmanship.

Blast away at a bevy of highly detailed moving and stationary targets. When you hit one, you’ll be rewarded with entertaining lights, sounds and animations. Some animations even have a supernatural twist!

Additional Fee Required

You must purchase credits to play. One credit will get you approximately 25 shots. You can buy additional credits for more shooting time.

Safety First, Pardner!

Rifles do not fire pellets or projectiles of any kind. Instead, they use invisible beams of safe infrared light. When the infrared light from the rifle strikes a sensor on the target, a hit is signaled.

At this point, it isn’t known when this refurbishment will end. There is no reopening date listed on the Disneyland website.
