Walls Go Up Around Disney Showcase Character Location and Walkway on Main Street, USA at Disneyland

Walls have gone up around a character location that is also the entrance to a walkway behind Main Street, USA at Disneyland. This is found next to Disney Showcase and across from The Mad Hatter in Town Square. On Sunday, Clarabelle Cow could be seen meeting with guests there in the afternoon. On Monday, walls were joined by a scrim with the image of the location on it. It is unknown what is being done or how long this project will last.

Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the Disneyland Resort and noticed this change while walking into Disneyland. He took the following photos showing what the location looks like as of Monday morning.

This location was once the outdoor seating area for The American Egg House. This dining location was open from 1978 through 1983. The building next to this patio was the Maxwell House Coffee House in 1955 when Disneyland opened. Through the years, it became the Hill Bros. Coffee House and Town Square Café before becoming The American Egg House. It returned to being the Town Square Café after The American Egg House closed. Today, the building houses Disney Showcase.

This project is one of many different projects happening around the Disneyland Resort. As was recently noted in Disney Worldbuilders by Marvel head Kevin Feige, walls mean new experiences and adventures are on the way. This really is true when one looks around the Disneyland Resort (and beyond) currently. It means new attractions, areas, restaurants, and other experiences. While this may not be the biggest change in the world, the walls around this location do mean it is getting some attention and care. That is a very good thing.

What do you think about this project? Is there something you think should be done with this location? Have you used this walkway before? What did you think of it? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
