Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn and Combine Exhibit in Griffith Park is open on the third Sunday of the month from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, which allows guests of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of fun with special exhibits and guests. The Carolwood Foundation continues to carry on Walt Disney’s legacy, specifically regarding his love of trains. Its mission can be seen here:
The Carolwood Foundation’s mission is to preserve Walt Disney’s railroad legacy. We accomplish this through: sharing our volunteers’ and supporters’ love of railroading; teaching our children to understand the role that railroads served in building America, and encouraging the continual appreciation of railroading. Carolwood hosts several social events each year, which have resulted in the creation of lifelong friendships among our members and wonderful memories for all. We also operate Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn, located in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, on behalf of the Walt Disney Family Foundation.

On Sunday, July 19, Walt’s Barn will welcome author Bill Cotter. He will be signing his book about the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair.

The entrance to Walt’s Barn is at 5202 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, 90027, in Griffith Park. There is free parking and a dedicated entry gate there. Donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated by the foundation.
Before Bill Cotter makes his appearance at Walt’s Barn, he will also be visiting the Friends of the Mouse Club in Garden Grove.
The Club will welcome Bill as they celebrate America’s 250th birthday and Disneyland’s 71st anniversary. Bill will be giving a presentation about two of Disneyland’s greatest spectacles – America Sings and America on Parade. Guests may remember these entertainment offerings as an audio-animatronic stage show and parade. The parade was a tribute to America’s bicentennial and ran from 1975 to 1976.
A social hour will begin at 11:30 am, while the meeting itself will begin at 12:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Garden Grove Historical Society at 12174 Euclid St. in Garden Grove.
What do you think of these two Bill Cotter events? Do you plan on attending either one or both? Let us know in the comments.
