June 6 is known by Disney fans as 626 Day. This is in reference to Stitch’s designation as Experiment 626 in the 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch and the following specials and films. This day celebrates the themes of friendship and ‘ohana that are found in this franchise. Around the world, Disney Experiences celebrated this day in different ways. At Disneyland, along with the dance party in Disneyland that happens daily throughout the summer, there was also a special meet and greet. This meet and greet was in Hollywood Backlots and featured a photo backdrop that was themed to the film.

Friend of Daps Magic, Spencer, stopped by Disney California Adventure on Friday. There, he took some time (about an hour) to wait in line and meet Stitch on this very special day! Take a look at his photos of the location and Stitch on 626 day below!

Stitch was just one of the exciting things that happened at the Disneyland Resort on Friday. Pirates of the Caribbean also reopened on Friday at Disneyland. With this reopening, a new Audio-Animatronic pirate could be found in the treasure-filled grotto. This surprise reveal utilizes cutting-edge technology to bring this character to life. This technology was first revealed last year.
