There is nothing quite like waking up out at sea, surrounded by miles of beautiful blue ocean. In this video, Daps Magic recaps an absolutely jam-packed, magical day at sea aboard the Disney Wonder while cruising off the coast of Mexico and California.
From royal encounters and baby races to spectacular dining animations, here is how a perfect Disney Cruise Line day at sea was spent!

Mickey Waffles & Royal Gatherings
The morning started at Cabanas with a stunning ocean view and a cruise staple: Mickey Churro waffles. After fueling up, it was time for a reserved Royal Gathering experience.
- The Experience: This is a must-do character meet-and-greet that can be booked once per cruise. The wait was only about 10 to 15 minutes for the Daps Magic team, tops.
- The Princesses: The team met Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana during this experience.
- Bonus Sightings: While the Royal Gathering requires a reservation, Captain Mickey Mouse and Moana were spotted nearby, hosting open meet-and-greets for anyone willing to brave the lines!

Ship Exploring: Trivia, Bingo, & Baby Races!
After the royal morning, it was time to wander the ship and check out the adult spaces and lounges:
- The Crown & Fin Pub: The team popped in just as a lively TV trivia game was wrapping up.
- Azure Lounge: A quick peek inside revealed a massive crowd getting ready for a high-stakes game of Bingo.
- Jack Jack’s Diaper Dash: In the beautiful open atrium, this was one of the most hilarious events on any Disney ship—the baby crawling races! It is pure, unpredictable chaos and so much fun to watch.
Adults-Only Sanctuary: Later in the afternoon, the team snuck away up to the adults-only deck, where an awesome display of towel animals (including a perfect Wally and Eve!) was found. The Daps Magic team then walked all the way to the bow of the ship to catch the ocean breeze and spot a hidden Mickey.
Jazz & A Lucky Win at the French Quarter Lounge
A favorite spot on the ship is the French Quarter Lounge. Inspired by New Orleans, the Imagineers truly nailed the vibe here. While relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere, we happened to stumble into a charm giveaway and a jewelry raffle. It was all quite fun and amusing.

The Main Event: Animator’s Palate
Dinner tonight was at the iconic Animator’s Palate, and it easily earned the title of being the favorite evening so far.
The Menu
The food was an absolute home run across the board. It included:
- Starters: Black truffle pasta and savory Serrano ham.
- Soups: Hearty baked potato soup and comforting butternut squash soup.
- Entrées: Melt-in-your-mouth beef tenderloin and a perfectly cooked pork chop with risotto.
- Desserts: A rich chocolate fudge cheesecake and a classic cookies-and-cream sundae.
The Magic
While eating, the black-and-white sketches on the walls slowly start to fill with vibrant color and come to life. Seeing characters like Winnie the Pooh, Remy, Rapunzel, and Tiana animate around the room is spectacular. The dinner culminated in an epic Fantasmic! musical moment, complete with an appearance by Sorcerer Mickey himself.

Ending the Night in Style
The entertainment didn’t stop after dinner. The Walt Disney Theatre showed the Broadway-caliber production of Frozen. The talent on this ship is phenomenal—it was easily one of the best shows the team had ever seen on a cruise.
To wind down, the end of the evening was spent at the Cadillac Lounge listening to live Disney jazz standards, taking a peek at the adults-only Match Your Mate game show, and wrapping up the night with a peaceful midnight stroll down a completely empty, moonlit deck.
Next Up: Catalina Island!
Tomorrow, the Disney Wonder drops anchor at Catalina Island. This includes the Bison Tour and other adventures, including a look at the Oceaneer Club. Stay tuned for Day 3!
