‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Wins Weekend Box Office Again

The Devil Wears Prada 2 won the Mother’s Day weekend box office race for the second weekend in a row. During its second weekend, the sequel to the 2006 film brought in an additional $43 million in North America and $75.8 million internationally. In total, the film has now earned $433.2 million globally. This sees it surging past the $326 million haul the original made, not adjusted for inflation. With it only being the second weekend in theaters, there is still plenty of room for this number to continue to grow.

The film only fell week over week by 43 percent domestically and 46 percent internationally. This comes as Disney is also celebrating being the first studio in Hollywood to cross the $2 billion in the 2026 global box office.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 beat out newcomer Mortal Kombat II and its $40 million opening weekend domestically. The film earned an addition $23 million internationally. The music biopic on Michael Jackson was close behind with its $36.5 million take. It has now earned $240.5 million domestically and $577.4 million globally. It is also the most successful biopic in North America today, surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody.
