As the United States of America celebrates its 250th anniversary, The Walt Disney Company has been joining the celebration in several different ways. This initiative has been called Disney Celebrates America. With the celebration of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary last year, patriotic bunting did not appear on Main Street, USA at Disneyland or Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure. This used to be a common tradition, but has often been skipped in favor of decorations for whatever is being celebrated at The Happiest Place on Earth. This year, however, the patriotic bunting has returned to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
The bunting arrived earlier this week, ahead of the arrival of hundreds of members of the military who are in the region for Fleet Week in Los Angeles. It also arrived ahead of the Memorial Day Weekend. Below is a look at some of the patriotic decorations found on Main Street, USA at Disneyland.

The return of the patriotic bunting to the Disneyland Resort comes ahead of the arrival of Soarin’ Across America in Disney California Adventure on July 2nd. There will also be an extended run of the patriotic fireworks over the 4th of July weekend at the Disneyland Resort. Last week, Daps Magic had the opportunity to talk to Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald about Soarin’ Across America. Check out the interview here:
