Disneyland Resort Cast Member Susana Carranza has been honored by the Imagen Foundation as one of this year’s Influential Latinos in Media & Entertainment. Carrazana is the Director of Marketing & Commercial Strategy at the Disneyland Resort.

Susana Carranza’s Disney journey began in 2011 as a junior marketer at the Disneyland Resort. Over the course of her career, she has led several milestone projects, including the 60th anniversary celebration of the Disneyland Resort, Disney ¡Viva Navidad!, and others. Her career has centered on authenticity and also having a community impact, and inviting families to see themselves reflected in the magic. These themes continue now as Carranza continues her career at Disneyland Resort as an executive. She continues to see her work represent Hispanic audiences, including the recent “Disneylandia” campaign that her team worked on.

The “Disneylandia” campaign was inspired by Carranza’s own experiences and cultural connection. This campaign is rooted in authentic stories and is something that celebrates what many Hispanic guests have called The Happiest Place on Earth for a very long time: “Disneylandia.” The campaign message is: “Disneylandia es aún más feliz contigo.” This translates to: “The Happiest Place is happiest with you.” It invites families to celebrate their traditions and share the memories and joy of being together on a Disney vacation.

This campaign led to the creation of the “Disneylandia” celebration buttons. These free offerings can be seen worn proudly by guests around the Disneyland Resort. They have become popular with both guests and Cast Members very quickly. They highlight how magical cultural connections at The Happiest Place on Earth can be.
Susana shared about this honor from the Imagen Foundation, saying, “I am deeply honored to be recognized among such a strong, diverse and talented group of individuals. I never imagined that my career path would allow me to contribute to something greater than myself — sharing meaningful stories and authentically representing the consumers and guests we serve. It is deeply meaningful to me that my daughters can see firsthand what is possible for them and that my community can witness people like us being celebrated.”
The Imagen Foundation is a champion of Latino representation for over 40 years. For over 15 years, it has celebrated Influential Latinos in Media. This year, Carranza joins other employees of The Walt Disney Company who are just a few who have been honored in this way from last year’s class. This includes: Kristen Andersen, Maria Perez, Dustin Sandoval, and Joe Ortiz.
Please join Daps Magic in congratulating Susana Carranza for this well-deserved honor.
