On Friday, Disney Golf unveiled a new Grumpy statue as a part of the recently redesigned four holes at Disney’s Magnolia golf course. Appropriately enough, the statue marks the entryway to these holes and is now being affectionately called “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.”
The statue that recreates the cranky dwarf from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs can be found next ot the tee box on hole No. 14. This is the first of the four Grumpy holes that include No. 15, No. 16, and No. 17. This is a furious stretch of finishing holes that provide a fun, yet daunting, challenge for even the most experienced golfers.
Disney shared some fun details about this new Grumpy statue:
- The statue stands approximately six feet tall
- It is crafted from Carrara marble by Walt Disney Imagineering
- An AI-powered stone-carving robot was used to carve Grumpy with his signature scowl atop a rock
- The statue includes a sign next to Grumpy with his well-known line, “Mark my words, there’s trouble a-brewin’!’’
Along with unveiling this new statue, the course also began to offer “Grumpy’s Gauntlet” merchandise in the Manolia pro shop. This includes branded shirts, hats, and a variety of other golf-related accessories and collectibles.
The new Grumpy statues and accompanying merchandise are all a part of the latest enhancements to the course. This course has a rich history, with some of the biggest names in professional golf walking its fairways and greens. It also builds on the whimsical Disney storytelling found throughout the course.
