The Disneyland Resort is honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their nation at various restaurants throughout the resort. This is being done in what has become a tradition in recent years in the placement of a Missing Hero Table at different locations. These beautiful and moving exhibits honor the service members who never returned home: the fallen, the missing, and those held as prisoners of war. Their sacrifices were the heartbreakingly high price for the freedoms enjoyed today in the United States of America.

The Missing Hero Tables were reserved at these different restaurants to honor the brave and selfless military members who gave their lives in service, remain missing in action, or are still waiting to find a way home. Daps Magic stopped by and saw many of these tables over the weekend. Photos of them can be found here:

There are elements found on each of these tables. They each have symbolism. Here is what they represent:

• A small round table symbolizes the isolation of the absent service members.
• The white tablecloth represents the purity of their motives in answering the call of service.
• An empty chair symbolizes the seat that remains unclaimed.
• A single rose ribbon symbolizes the sacrifice, and the yellow ribbon stands for continued hope.
• An inverted glass symbolizes the missing member unable to toast.
• A slice of lemon and salt represent the bitter fate of the missing member.
• The candle symbolizes the light of hope for their safe return.
