Soarin’ Across America will debut as part of Disney’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America this summer. It will open at EPCOT on May 26th and at Disney California Adventure on July 2nd. When it does, guests will get to visit beautiful destinations across the United States of America as they soar over sweeping coastlines, vibrant cityscapes, and awe-inspiring natural landscapes. They will get to experience the beauty and wonder of this nation as they hear the iconic music originally written by Jerry Goldsmith and arranged by Bruce Broughton.

Ahead of the opening of this version of the attraction, Disney has begun to reveal the destinations that will be visited as guests experience Soarin’ Across America. Below are some of the scenes that will be visited when guests go for a flight aboard this beloved attraction this summer.
“Each scene helps to create a portrait of what we believe makes America so special,” said Tom Fitzgerald, creative director and chief storytelling executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States.”

The flight will see guests gliding above iconic urban and natural wonders. It will also see them cruising over Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota. Along the way, other sights will include the rugged New England coastline, New York Harbor, and even the Grand Canyon West!
The flight won’t just feature beautiful locations. It will also highlight different seasons, showing the beauty of America. As guests fly over the USA, they will get to experience the autumn colors of the American heartland, the beauty of the bayous, the great plains of the west, the northern wilderness, and even sunlit island shores!

Along with this beautiful tapestry of scenes and a new musical arrangement of the Soarin’ theme, there will also be new programming for the attraction, wind effects, and more that will bring the experience to life.
For guests waiting to board at Walt Disney World, there will be the chance to show off knowledge of the USA with a new trivia challenge. The Soarin’ Challenge Across America will invite guests to discover which state is “Most Likely to Reach for the Stars,” “Most Likely to Lend an Ear,” and “Most Likely to Strike Gold.” This experience was created in collaboration with National Geographic. It features fun facts from beloved National Geographic titles. This includes 50 States, 5,000 ideas, and stunning photography from the National Geographic archives. The challenge will transform the queue at EPCOT into a celebration of the wonder of America.
The Walt Disney Company is honoring this milestone of the United States of America with Disney Celebrates America. This is a company-wide initiative spanning programming, experiences, and storytelling throughout its brands and businesses.
Soarin’ Across America will showcase how Disney can continue to share stories that bring together and reflect the spirit of optimism and possibility that this nation was built upon.
Soarin’ Over California was the first version of this attraction. It debuted with the opening of Disney California Adventure in 2001. It showcased some of the beautiful icons and scenery found throughout California. It is generally offered each spring at Disney California Adventure.
Soarin’ Over California was also shown at EPCOT as Soarin’. An updated version of the attraction debuted at both Disney California Adventure and EPCOT in 2016. Called Soarin’ Around the World, it features beautiful locations and destinations from around the world.
Versions of the attraction can also be found at Tokyo DisneySea and Shanghai Disneyland.
