Wishes Assemble

Make-A-Wish Heroes Become Super Heroes at Disneyland Resort

On Wednesday, nearly 40 Avengers-themed wishes were granted at the Disneyland Resort through the combined efforts of Disney, Make-A-Wish, and MrBeast. These wishes were part of Disney Week of Wishes, a company-wide celebration of wish-granting throughout the world. For Wishes Assemble, nearly 40 kids battling critical illnesses were given incredible experiences at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure with their families. This was a day of creating moments of joy that offer inspiration, hope, and joy for these kids and their families.

These heroic Make-A-Wish kids got to step into the role of being Avengers recruits. They did this alongside some of the biggest content creators from around the world. This includes:

  • Mark Rober
  • Dude Perfect
  • Sam & Colby
  • PrestonPlayz & BriannaPlayz
  • Clix

The event created a day full of magic and Avengers missions that celebrated resilience, imagination, and the seemingly superhuman strength found in the hearts of each Make-A-Wish kid.

An Epic Day

The day was packed with opportunities for the kids to follow in the footsteps of some of their favorite Super Heroes. Things started off with a professional artist teaching them how to draw Spider-Man.

A simple drawing class turned into an epic adventure when Captain America actor Anthony Mackie showed up for a surprise appearance. While there, he gifted the wish kids Hasbro Captain America Action Figures. He also spent time with 9-year-old wish kid Coen. Coen wished to meet Mackie “because he is my favorite Super Hero!” Part of their time together was spent riding Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT together.

There were other fun adventures throughout the day to be enjoyed as well. Wish families experienced personalized moments as their wishes came to life throughout the Disneyland Resort. At one point, MrBeast led a scavenger hunt before he welcomed wish kids to his signature-style Beast Games.

There were also some other epic adventures that happened throughout the day. Mark Rober hosted a hands-on egg drop experiment from Avengers Headquarters. This gave kids a very rare opportunity to take part in a science experiment inside Avengers Campus (so cool!). The Due Perfect Fan Zone featured themed trick-shot stations, games, and challenges for kids to take on as well.

That wasn’t all, however. Other moments included PrestonPlayz and Clix spending time with wish kids in custom-designed gaming spaces, playing Fortnite and Minecraft. This was followed by riding WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure together. Sam & Colby also hosted a spooky storytime with a very special guest: Agatha Harkness.

The culmination of the day was an unforgettable private event celebration that took over Avengers Campus. Vision actor Paul Bettany made a surprise appearance. Adding to the list of collaborations, YouTube worked with Disney and Make-A-Wish to host the “Creator Corner” lounge. This included a special momento award ceremony for each child, along with an interactive thumbnail creation station, created in partnership with MrBeast’s team.

Gift Giving Magic

Along with giving the gift of core memories throughout the day, there were also some gifts given during Wishes Assemble. The event was supported by Disney Consumer Products, Disney Store, and licensees like Berkshire Fashions, Corkcicle, Funko, Hasbro, the LEGO Group, Mad Engine, and Monogram International to surprise the kids with some thoughtful gifts to help them gear up like Super Heroes as they have fun through imagination and play.

The whole day was packed with Super Hero-sized moments and gifts. All of these came together during Wishes Assemble to spark joy with families well after their return home.

Disney has a long partnership with Make-A-Wish. As it makes magic daily around the globe for the millions of guests who visit its parks, destinations, and cruises, it also uses its powers for good. The partnership with Make-A-Wish provides hope and joy for Make-A-Wish kids and their families. These moments can be life-changing. They give kids and their families things to look forward to and then to look back fondly on and build upon as they often face difficult journeys. These efforts and events make the world a much better place one wish at a time.
