Team Carter Strong Forever CHOC Walk Kick-Off Event

Little Victories, Big Waves: The Inspiring Heart of CHOC Walk 2026

On August 2nd, thousands of supporters of Rady Children’s Health Orange County, formerly CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County), will walk through Disneyland and Disney California Adventure before the parks open. On the evening of April 16th, a special event with special guests took place to kick off the 2026 CHOC Walk season. The event was hosted by last year’s CHOC Walk Ambassador, Belle Wuich, and Tim O’Day.

Belle and Tim lit up the night as they shared about CHOC Walk, including that last year’s CHOC Walk raised $3 million! They also shared how, in the 34 years of partnership with the Disneyland Resort, the CHOC Walk in the Park has raised over $49 million! There were some other specifics shared about this year’s CHOC Walk. They include:

Disneyland Ambassador Oralia Neria Felix was also on hand for this special event. The Disneyland Resort has a deep connection with RCHOC that dates back to when CHOC was founded. “This connection goes as far back as Walt Disney himself,” Oralia noted that he was connected with the founding of this organization. “We are so proud to continue Walt’s legacy of being an active, supportive, and truly caring neighbor.”

The heart of the evening was the introduction of the 2026 CHOC Walk Ambassador Family: Jamie, Tim, and Taylor, representing Team Carter Strong Forever. Their story honors Carter, their son, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2015. Despite a brave fight that ultimately led to his passing, Carter’s legacy continues to inspire thousands. His mother, Jamie, shared memories of Carter’s love for life. This included his wish to “work at CHOC and cure cancer.”

“Since he didn’t get that opportunity, we take that on as our responsibility,” Jamie said. “Everything you guys are doing here—every share, every dollar—is sending big waves into motion.”

After two years of walking as team “Carter Strong,” this will be their eighth year walking as team “Carter Strong Forever.” Jamie concluded that “just because his life ended, his story doesn’t have to. So we are selfishly, again, so grateful for this opportunity to CHOC, to Disneyland, to Rady Children’s, to continue that story. So we will see you on August 2nd for the Chalk Walk in the park.”

Some fundraising incentives were also shared:

  • Those who raise $400 can get a Park Hopper ticket for August 2nd (CHOC Walk day!)
  • The top fundraiser will win a night at the Disneyland Resort, along with some other fun offerings!
  • Magic Key holders who join the Magic Key team can earn a “Rally Tally” medal.

Along with all of the above, it was revealed that Hayden Evans created this year’s CHOC Walk art, which was shared. It can be seen here:

There will also be a delicious opportunity to raise funds for CHOC on June 12th. This will be CHOC Sweet Treats Day at CHIC-fil-A. On this day, in participating Orange County CHIC-fil-A restaurants, the proceeds from brownies and cookies will go to the CHOC Walk.

The CHOC Walk in the Park is a lot of fun, but more importantly, it makes a big difference. It makes a difference in the lives of people like the Carters or Belle. These are people who have received medical care at RCHOC, and with it, they also have received love and support. Every dollar that is donated to the CHOC Walk makes a difference for people like the Carters. Every person who walks in the CHOC Walk or who makes a donation is casting a vote for the kind of world they want. This is a world where we take care of the children in our community. This is a world where we support our neighbors who are going through a difficult time. This is a world where a little bit of kindness and an early morning walk can make all the difference in the world.

We hope that you will join Team Daps Magic in walking through the parks on the morning of August 2, 2026. This is a meaningful and important event that is also a lot of fun. We have a chance to come together and make a positive difference in the world. We will have a blast doing it along the way! Join us at https://www.chocwalk.org/dapsmagic. Once you’ve done that, grab a friend or family member to join the team as well! The more we get to walk together, the bigger difference we can make. We would love to see this as the most positive and impactful Team Daps Magic for the CHOC Walk in the Park in the nearly two decades we have been walking.
