The Monorail and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin have both been closed for a refurbishment, but will soon reopen. This comes as the Disneyland Resort continues its efforts to refurbish attractions proactively in an effort to keep them reliable and open for guests to experience. According to the Disneyland website, both attractions will be opening on May 1, 2026. For this time around, it is believed that both attractions were being refurbished and not changed. This is in contrast to when the storyline was changed on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin in 2021.

Starting in May, guests will once again be able to experience the attraction based on Who Framed Roger Rabbit? in Mickey’s Toontown and board the highway in the sky in Tomorrowland or at the Downtown Disney District station.

In recent years, it seems that the Monorail has been closing for refurbishment in the spring at Disneyland. With the changes coming to Disney California Adventure (the closure of Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! for an attraction based on the Avatar franchise), there has been plenty of speculation about what the future of the Monorail looks like. While the long-term future for the Monorail or its track layout might not be known, it is known that guests will be riding in the skies over Disneyland Resort once again in May.
